No. 3DFitBud is ready to use right away with no calibration or set up required. Simply activate it by pulling out the battery tab, clip it on, and start walking. WHAT BATTERY DOES THE 3DFITBUD PEDOMETER USE? Your 3DFitBud comes with a CR2032 coin cell battery pre-installed which lasts up to 12 months. Replacement batteries can be bought at most convenient stores. DOES THE 3DFITBUD PEDOMETER COUNT STEPPING IN ONE PLACE? 3DFitBud will detect your steps when stepping in one place, however, for best results it works best with consistent and natural walking movement. DOES THE 3DFITBUD PEDOMETER WORK WITH WALKING AIDS? We do not recommend using 3DFitBud with walking aids as results may be more inconsistent than walking without. HOW CAN I TURN OFF MY 3DFITBUD PEDOMETER? It does not have an on/off button. The pedometer will enter sleep mode automatically when no movement is detected after 60 seconds in order to preserve battery life.
